Not long now...

My neighbours now know that I am leaving and I think they are quite sad. Today I sat on a box with the gatekeepers wife watching the world go by. I really wish I could speak chinese !
Today has been very hot. I have been watching the children playing outside in the street and they are so sweet.Two little boys were pretending to be at the temple praying - they had all the moves correct. I think maybe they had watched a funeral because they were trying to imitate music as well.
After this I saw one boy about two years old pretending to be a soldier marching and saluting - it really makes me wonder what goes on in their heads. Kids are amazing the whole world over.
The road outside is very busy but the children all play out all day and NEVER step off the pavement. I would be scared to even let them outside the door!!
In fact it reminds me of the freedom we had when we were kids and I hope for their sake it won't change but in my heart I know it will.
I've had a great few days sine my leavind "do" ,tying loose ends,sorting stuff out ,posting things home but the goodbyes are getting to me now and I would really like to be on my way.
Today I met up with John and Erin
( American Peace Corps). they are a lovely couple who arrived about the same time as me and I hope our paths will cross again.

Only two days to go then off to Xian and Beijing.
Can't believe it !! Nearly two years - sometimes I did not think I would make it but I did. YEAH
